Iraq is one of the most historically rich and culturally significant countries in the world, yet it remains largely undiscovered by international travelers. Located in the heart of the Middle East, between Iran, Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait, Iraq sits on the land historically known as Mesopotamia, often called the “Cradle of Civilization.”
This is where some of the world’s earliest cities, writing systems, and laws were created. Great civilizations such as the Sumerians, Babylonians, and Assyrians once flourished here, leaving behind remarkable archaeological sites like Babylon and Hatra that you can still visit today.
Modern Iraq has gone through decades of conflict, particularly following the Iraq War. However, in recent years, the situation has changed significantly.
Today, much of Iraq especially the southern regions, central المدن like Baghdad, and the northern Kurdistan region including Erbil is stable and increasingly welcoming to international visitors. Tourism is gradually growing, and travelers are once again discovering the country’s unique heritage and hospitality.
Security has improved considerably in the areas included in this itinerary, and guided tours operate regularly, offering a structured and safe way to explore.
One of Iraq’s greatest treasures is its people. Iraqi culture is deeply rooted in tradition, family, and generosity. Visitors are often struck by the warmth and curiosity of locals, who are proud to share their country and stories.
From sipping tea in historic cafés in Baghdad to walking through bustling bazaars in Mosul and Erbil, you’ll experience a culture that is both ancient and alive.
Religion also plays an important role in daily life. Cities like Karbala and Najaf are among the most important spiritual centers in the Islamic world, attracting millions of pilgrims each year.
Traveling to Iraq today offers something rare: the chance to explore world-class historical sites without crowds, experience authentic local culture, and witness a country rebuilding and redefining itself.
